Jamie is a character in the novel Final Destination: Dead Reckoning. He is a survivor of the Club Kitty collapse and serves as the male protagonist. Jamie is also the drummer of the band The Vipers, which is led by Jessica "Jess" Golden. Jamie and Jess are best friends; however, Jamie considers them to be more than that (especially after a secret event that occurred a few years before the story began, most likely the two having sex). At some point before the story, he was dating a girl named Becci, but she was stolen by Eric Prescott. At night, the Vipers perform at the club when Jess has a horrible premonition of several of the people in the club dying (Jamie dies when he gets knocked off a gantry). After she sees the premonition, Jess freezes on stage and tries to direct the audience outside the club, but no one believes her. Eventually, the manager is forced to have her hauled outside by the bouncer, with Jamie following her afterwards to see if she's okay, along with several other pedestrians. Suddenly, the club collapses just as Jess predicted, and the remaining survivors are interrogated at a police station. Upon helping Jess escape from custody, Jamie is bailed out by Macy, and they spend the night together (although Jamie sneaks out of her house when she falls asleep).
Later on, Jamie visits Charlie Delgado's house and becomes jealous once he finds out that Jess spent the night, thinking that they slept together or had sex. When Jess thinks that Eric Prescott is in danger (after two of the survivors, Sebastian and Amber, die), Jamie stows away inside Charlie's car and overhears them talking. Jamie's anger for Charlie grows once Charlie implies that Jess clearly wants nothing to do with him, but his jealousy is short-lived once Charlie becomes the next victim of Death and is crushed by an elevator.
Jamie meets up with Jess and the other survivors at a diner and listens to her theory on Death's list and realizes that Macy is next. Even though Jamie tries to take Macy home in his car, she wants nothing to do with him after he snuck out of her home. Before departing in Eric's SUV, a homeless man steals Eric's hubcap and runs into an alleyway. The survivors are attacked by random assailants, and just as they fend them off, Macy is bisected by a metal pane, thanks to Ben accidentally firing at it. After he falls down a manhole and dies, Eric, Jess, and Jamie go to the morgue after Jess realizes her mother may be dead. During the visit, the cops show up, and the survivors try to escape. Jamie is abruptly killed when he shoves Eric to the ground and is shot in the chest, intervening in his death. He undergoes surgery for the bullet wound and is revived in the hospital. After being discharged from the hospital, Jamie starts a relationship with Jess.
A month later, the survivors meet up at Santa Monica pier to perform during a late-night beach party. Eric splits away from the group and starts talking to a cold pedestrian before he sits on top of the railing. The neon necklace around his head falls over his eyes, and he struggles to get it off, falling into the water below. Eric panics after remembering what Jess said about signs and thinks the water is full of sharks. He desperately doggy paddles to the beach, but fails, and has his skull crushed when a surfer slams into him with his metal surfboard.
A few months after Eric's death, Jess seemingly disappeared off the face of the Earth, presumably hiding and having cut off ties with friends and family, including Jamie.

Jamie is one of only six characters throughout the entire Final Destination franchise who have cheated Death using the New Life method. The others are:
- Jessica "Jess" Golden, a fellow survivor of the Club Kitty collapse who was saved after she was electrocuted to death with a taser while crawling through a puddle.
- Kimberly Corman, a survivor of the Route 23 pileup from Final Destination 2 who drowned herself.
- Juliet Collins, a survivor of the Mornington Crescent explosion from Final Destination: Destination Zero who was saved after drowning in the Thames River. She is also the only survivor who is known to have survived long-term, having mothered at least one child since her revival.
- Patricia Fuller, a survivor of the South Hill Metroline bombing and the great-great-granddaughter of Juliet Collins. She was revived after giving herself a fatal dose of anesthesia.
- Louise King, a survivor of the subway collision in Final Destination: End of the Line who was revived after being accidentally given a fatal dose of lidocaine by Kate Shelley.
- Jamie is the only one among these survivors to be male.
